Suggested workflow: create both parent records, note the game version, and write the outcome you want to investigate. Distinguish a visual preference from a stat goal.
After the birth
Record the foal separately and link it to both parents. Retain unsuccessful outcomes too; selectively keeping only preferred foals makes your records misleading.
The in-game breeding lab
The official store describes an advanced breeding-station lab that previews possible foals. This independent website does not reproduce its unpublished logic or claim equivalent predictions.
Preserve the parent, not just the total
Steam achievement objectives distinguish total foals from parent-specific milestones: 20 and 100 foals are total milestones, while Expert Broodmare requires eight births from one mare and Widespread Genes specifies one stallion covering or artificially inseminating 50 mares. Use parent IDs consistently when recording outcomes.
